Cooling of fire gases in mine workings and ventilation networks

Soviet Mining Science, 1988
A mine fire e x c i t e s in t he ventilation network nonsteady-state gas-air flow with a high temperature, a reduced oxygen content, and a critical content of carbon monoxide. A change in air temperat~re is an additional thermal (fire) pressure. A fire pressure destabilizes the air distribution in the network and it creates conditions for slowing down

A coding scheme for a graphical solution to mine ventilation networks

Mining Science and Technology, 1988
Abstract This paper discusses a coding scheme for a graphical solution to the mine ventilation network that can be reduced to an equivalent series system, with special emphasis on the basis of the pressure difference (i.e., pressure loss or gain) for the branch characteristic curve. In addition, a comprehensive analysis of a graphical solution to the

Dust Transportation and Settling within the Mine Ventilation Network

2019
Dust is ubiquitous in underground mine activities. Continuous inhalation of dust could lead to irreversible occupational diseases. Dust particles of size lower than 75.0 µm, also known as float coal dust, can trigger a coal dust explosion following a methane ignition.
