SEARCHING UNGROUND FAN INDUCED RECIRCULATION IN A COMPLICATED MINE VENTILATION NETWORK [PDF]

open access: yesCivil Engineering Journal, 2018
Due to the difficulty of finding recirculation of airflows in a complicated ventilation system, a searching strategy is proposed based on depth-first search method for searching recirculation in complicated ventilation networks. The depth first method is

The Mind From Within: Visceral Roots of Human Cognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The physiological activity of visceral organs, such as the heart, the lungs, and the gut, is surprisingly linked to many sophisticated mental operations, such as remembering the past, being aware of ourselves, making choices, and forging social bonds.

From state-of-the-art ventilation to closed loop ventilation

open access: yes, 2022
Recent emphasis on energy load delivered during each ventilatory breath has opened a new insight to reduce harmful ventilatory induced lung injury, but no robust clinical evidence of patient benefit produced yet. Closed loop ventilation is a strategy to

Synchronization‐Dissipation in the Cardiorespiratory System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By modeling central nervous coupling and viscoelastic interactions in the cardiorespiratory system we show that synchronization produces a 10% gain in cardiac efficiency in humans. It is surmised that respiratory sinus arrhythmia improves cardiac pumping efficiency by reducing dynamic stress and power dissipation in the pulmonary vasculature.

Determining Diagonal Branches in Mine Ventilation Networks

open access: yesArchives of Mining Sciences, 2014
Abstract The present paper discusses determining diagonal branches in a mine ventilation network by means of a method based on the relationship A⊗ PT(k, l) = M, which states that the nodal-branch incidence matrix A, modulo-2 multiplied by the transposed path matrix PT(k, l ) from node no. k to node no.

Evaluation of the optimum conditions for a local ventilation system in connection with the mine ventilation network [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the First International Conference on Underground Mining Technology, 2017
In a single working face in an underground mine, a single duct and a booster fan are installed to provide fresh air to the working face for local ventilation. Since this local ventilation is provided in conjunction with the entire ventilation network of the mine, its performance and resulting environment depend on the conditions of air intake and ...

Theoretical knowledge enhanced genetic algorithm for mine ventilation system optimization considering main fan adjustment

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems
Mining safety heavily depends on ventilation, which constitutes a significant portion of the energy costs in operations. Optimizing mine ventilation systems (MVSO) is crucial for minimizing this energy expenditure.
