Dynamic Behaviour of Bubbles in Oil Under Electrothermal Ageing

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT During long‐term operation of converter transformers, the internal oil–pressboard insulation undergoes irreversible degradation. Partial discharge in the weakened insulation will cause the formation of a large number of bubbles in the insulating oil.

Lightning breakdown voltages of refined bleached and deodorised palm oil under needle-plane configuration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In recent years, vegetable oil such as Palm Oil (PO) has been identified as a potential alternative dielectric insulating fluid for transformers. It is biodegradable, non-toxic and has high flash and fire points.

Study on Impurity Particle Detection in Transformer Oil Based on Microflow Imaging Method

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The concentration of particles in transformer oil has a significant influence on its electrical performance, making oil cleanliness a critical parameter in the operation and maintenance of power transformers. However, the light obstruction (LO) method recommended by current standards has inherent limitations, including low sensitivity to ...

Lightning Impulse Withstand of Natural Ester Liquid

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
Due to the low biodegradability of mineral oil, intense research is conducted to define alternative liquids with comparable dielectric properties. Natural ester liquids are an alternative in focus; they are used increasingly as insulating liquid in ...

Deterioration Law of Mechanical Properties of Insulation Pressboard Under Multifield Coupled Ageing

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Converter transformers can experience progressive deterioration of their oil–pressboard insulation under elevated temperature, combined AC–DC electrical stress and persistent mechanical vibration. This study investigates how mechanical vibration affects the mechanical properties of insulation pressboard and clarifies the associated microscopic

Mineral Oil‐Induced Ageing Characteristics of Aluminium Nitride‐Doped Silicone Rubber Nanocomposites

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Room temperature vulcanised (RTV) silicone rubber, commonly used as an external insulating coating on ceramic bushings of oil‐immersed transformers, undergoes significant degradation when exposed to mineral oil under harsh environmental conditions.

Inflation Propagation in Production

open access: yesAustralian Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Inflationary pressures in an increasingly interconnected production system reflect not only aggregate or isolated sectoral shocks but also their propagation through supply‐chain networks. Methods This paper examines the mechanisms underlying inflation transmission in a small open economy, using industry‐level data for Australian ...

Effect of different contents of nano-SiO2 particles on water diffusion behavior in insulating oil

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
As an important component of the internal insulation system in a transformer, insulating oil will gradually age during the long-term operation of the transformer, which will lead to a degradation of its insulation performance.
