A study on phase change heat removal technique using a porous-microchannel

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2015
The critical heat flux (CHF), heat transfer coefficient, and pressure loss were measured systematically for water subcooled flow boiling. A small rectangular channel containing a porous metal plate was used as the test channel (this was called “porous ...

Investigations of Performance of Mini-Channel Condensers and Evaporators for Propane

open access: yesSustainability, 2022
This paper provides the results of experimental investigations of the exemplary mini-channel heat exchanger in its application as a condenser and an evaporator in a compressor refrigeration system with propane as a working fluid. The aim of the investigations was to identify the mean heat transfer coefficient of the refrigerant side for the entire ...

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Hydrodynamic Study of an Oscillating Meniscus in a Square Mini-Channel [PDF]

open access: yesASME 2009 Second International Conference on Micro/Nanoscale Heat and Mass Transfer, Volume 2, 2009
Miniaturized fluidic systems like MEMS may involve single-phase or multi-phase flows with oscillations/ pulsations. Understanding the hydrodynamics of such flows can help in manipulating the performance parameters and improving the efficiency of micro-systems.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and
