A High Throughput Targeted Gene Disruption Method for Alternaria brassicicola Functional Genomics Using Linear Minimal Element (LME) Constructs

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2006
Alternaria brassicicola causes black spot disease of cultivated Brassicas and has been used consistently as a necro-trophic fungal pathogen for studies with Arabidopsis. In A.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Approximation of the Minimal Eigenvalue for a Nonlinear Sturm–Liouville Problem [PDF]

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2015
Properties of the minimal eigenvalue corresponding to the positive eigenfunction of a nonlinear eigenvalue problem for an ordinary differential equation are studied. This problem is approximated by a mesh scheme of the finite element method. The error of

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Minimal surface computation using a finite element method on an embedded surface

open access: yes, 2015
We suggest a finite element method for finding minimal surfaces based on computing a discrete Laplace–Beltrami operator operating on the coordinates of the surface.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Finite elements for modeling of localized failure in reinforced concrete [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this work, several beam finite element formulations are proposed for failure analysis of planar reinforced concrete beams and frames under monotonic static loading.

On extremal elements and the cardinality of the set of continuously differentiable convex extensions of a Boolean function

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем
In this paper we study the existence of the maximal and minimal elements of the set of continuously differentiable convex extensions to $[0,1]^n$ of an arbitrary Boolean function $f_{B}(x_1,x_2,\ldots,x_n)$ and the cardinality of the set of continuously ...
