Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

The “PRO-N” clitic en / ne and the theory of cliticization

open access: yesBucharest Working Papers in Linguistics, 2012
The Romance pro-N clitic (Fr., Cat.) en / (It.) ne is problematic for most theories of cliticization, because some phenomena support a movement analysis, while others seem to speak against movement.Endorsing the view that the pro-N clitic is the result of

Equivalents of Certain Minimal Element Principles

open access: yes, 2023
In this article, by applying our 2023 Metatheorem in ordered fixed point theory, we obtain various MinimalElement Principles with their equivalent formulations to existence theorems on minimal elements, commonfixed points, common stationary points, and others. Some known theorems and new ones appear in suchequivalents.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Explicit Free Resolutions of Tangent Cones in Affine 4-Space

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal
This paper is devoted to the study of minimal free resolutions of tangent cones associated with complete intersection monomial curves in affine 4-space. By applying the gluing technique for numerical semigroups, we characterize specific families of these

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Punti distinti in P^2 con funzione di Hilbert generica

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 1991
Let X be a set of distinct points in “generic position” in P2k , k algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. We describe the base locus for the system of curves of minimal degree passing through X, provided that the homgeneous ideal I(X) has a ...

On the representation of minimal form factors in integrable quantum field theory

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
In this paper, we propose a new representation of the minimal form factors in integrable quantum field theories. These are solutions of the two-particle form factor equations, which have no poles on the physical sheet.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
