Uncountable families of prime z-ideals in C_0(R)
Denote by $\continuum=2^{\aleph_0}$ the cardinal of continuum. We construct an intriguing family $(P_\alpha: \alpha\in\continuum)$ of prime $z$-ideals in $\C_0(\reals)$ with the following properties: If $f\in P_{i_0}$ for some $i_0\in\continuum$, then $

Tunable Band-Pass Filters with Long Periodicity Using Cascaded Mach-Zehnder Interferometer Networks
This paper introduces a theoretical framework for designing and tuning band-pass filters with a highly extended periodicity using cascaded Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) networks. We show that a filter centered at frequency f0 with a bandwidth of FSR0

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Ring extensions invariant under group action [PDF]
Let $G$ be a subgroup of the automorphism group of a commutative ring with identity $T$. Let $R$ be a subring of $T$ such that $R$ is invariant under the action by $G$.

Computing Maximal and Minimal Trap Spaces of Boolean Networks
Asymptotic behaviors are often of particular interest when analyzing Boolean networks that represent biological systems such as signal trans- duction or gene regulatory networks. Methods based on a generalization of the steady state notion, the so-called

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

For an irreducible crystallographic root system $\Phi$ and a positive integer $p$ relatively prime to the Coxeter number $h$ of $\Phi$, we give a natural bijection $\mathcal{A}$ from the set $\widetilde{W}^p$ of affine Weyl group elements with no ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Closed-loop Reference Models for Output-Feedback Adaptive Systems
Closed-loop reference models have recently been proposed for states accessible adaptive systems. They have been shown to have improved transient response over their open loop counter parts. The results in the states accessible case are extended to single
