Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

Exchange-Repairs: Managing Inconsistency in Data Exchange

open access: yes, 2014
In a data exchange setting with target constraints, it is often the case that a given source instance has no solutions. In such cases, the semantics of target queries trivialize.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Arthroscopic Repair of Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis in Patients With Tennis Elbow

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques
Lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow, has been attributed to the degeneration of the extensor carpi radialis brevis tendon, with surgery reserved for recalcitrant cases.

Endovascular management of a late saccular aortic aneurysm after end-to-end repair of coarctation

open access: yesMonaldi Archives for Chest Disease, 2015
Post-coarctation surgical repair aneurysm formation is observed rarely with end-to-end anastomosis technique. The redo surgery is associated with high mortality and morbidity rate.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Fourteen Years of Living with Instability: A Case of Chronic Recurrent Anterior Shoulder Dislocation in a Middle-Aged Athlete

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Case Reports
Introduction: Recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation is a common sequela of traumatic shoulder injury in young adults, particularly athletes. Delayed treatment often leads to complex pathoanatomy, including Bankart and Hill-Sachs lesions.

Arthroscopic anterior talofibular ligament repair for lateral instability of the ankle

open access: yes, 2015
UNLABELLED: Although several arthroscopic procedures for lateral ligament instability of the ankle have been reported recently, it is difficult to augment the reconstruction by arthroscopically tightening the inferior extensor retinaculum.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.
