The Chisel-Planter Minimum Tillage System
Transactions of the ASAE, 1983ABSTRACT A minimum tillage planting machine called the Chisel-Planter has been designed, constructed and tested for use in reducing erosion on the steep slopes of Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington. The drill uses vibrating chisel shanks to clear residue and to provide a seedbed.

Crop Rotation and Minimum Tillage
2018The increased soil moisture storage and the lower, more constant soil temperature associated with minimum tillage are undoubtedly two major factors accounting for the lower incidence of stalk rot in corn. Evidence indicates that crop rotations influence plant production by affecting soil fertility and survival of plant pathogens, physical properties of

Rice production and minimum tillage
Outlook on Agriculture, 1969The introduction of new high-yielding varieties and an increased usage of fertilizers and pesticides are beginning to have a significant effect on rice production in Asia. Shortage of water, power and time could, however, limit full exploitation of this new technology.

2004, Ottawa, Canada August 1 - 4, 2004, 2004
A study was conducted on a tropical Alfisols on the Teaching and Research Farms of University of Ibadan in order to determine the effect of three tillage (no-tillage, minimum and conventional tillage) systems on infiltration of water in the soil. The experiment was a split-plot design with three replications.

Comparative tillage costs for crop rotations utilizing minimum tillage on a farm scale
Soil and Tillage Research, 1998Minimum tillage systems have been promoted for their soil conservation benefits, however, profitability is a major factor governing the adoption of soil conserving practices. Under conditions of similar crop productivity and input (i.e., fertilizer and pesticide) use, tillage costs become the key determinant of profitability. Two studies were conducted

Minimum Tillage Fallow Systems for Reducing Wind Erosion
Transactions of the ASAE, 1977ABSTRACT CLIMATE is the greatest single factor that influ-ences wind erosion control. Much of the Great Plains has insufficient precipitation for profitable annual cropping under present dryland cropping prac-tices. Moisture conservation and residue maintenance should always be considered when contemplating a tillage operation.

Vibratory Furrow Opening Tool for Minimum Tillage Planters
Transactions of the ASAE, 1979ABSTRACT A vibratory furrow opening tool was designed for use with a minimum tillage row crop planter system. System performance was evaluated in field tests where corn was planted in chemically killed sod. The effective-ness of the vibratory tool was compared to a fluted coul-ter opener based upon measurements of energy input, clod size distribution ...

Landownership and the Adoption of Minimum Tillage: Reply
American Journal of Agricultural Economics, 1985The comment by Heimlich correctly interprets the definition of the dependent variable, minimum tillage, in our analysis. The term minimum tillage did include the union of minimum tillage and residue management. The abbreviation to minimum tillage may have confused some readers. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the definition.

MINIMUM TILLAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUMMERFALLOW IN WESTERN CANADA
Canadian Journal of Soil Science, 1967Experiments at seven locations in Western Canada between 1956 and 1961 indicated that three or four tillage operations were usually enough for satisfactory weed control on summerfallow, and generally provided highest yields of grain. Two tillage operations were not sufficient.
