Theoretical study on corrosion behaviour of titanium metal alloyed with precious metals [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
This study investigated the role of valence electron orbital filling ( e/a ratio) on the reported corrosion resistance performance of Ti-Pt and Ti- Au binary alloys containing less than 10 atomic percent (at. %) precious metal.

An Archaeometallurgical Investigation on Some Archaeological Metal Finds From the Sasanian Site of Jahāngir, Western Iran

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Twelve metal artifacts from recent excavations at the Sasanian archaeological site of Jahāngir in western Iran have been analyzed. These items include both decorative and utilitarian artifacts. The samples were examined using micro‐X‐ray fluorescence (μ‐XRF), scanning electron microscopy with energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy (SEM‐EDS), and

Medicine for the Material World

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT It is clear that many of the inorganic materials of antiquity have been used both as medicines for human ills and also as agents in technological processes. This paper speculates that there might have been a stronger link between these two functions in the past, based on the concept of “active agents”—materials that are efficacious at curing ...

Sectoral Adaptation and Strategic Resilience: The Impact of Sanctions on Russian Corporate Performance (2014–2021)

open access: yesEconomics of Transition and Institutional Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine the sectoral impact of Western sanctions on Russian corporate performance from 2014 to 2021 using a panel of listed nonfinancial firms. Applying continuous‐time heterogeneous treatment models and difference‐in‐differences estimators, we document persistent divergence across sectors: The energy sector exhibits sustained ...

Transitioning of the Chemical Industry Toward a Net‐Zero Carbon Dioxide Emission Path

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.
One way to reduce the greenhouse gas footprint of the chemical industry to almost zero would be the production of the platform molecules C1‐compounds, olefins, aromatics, and ammonia by non‐fossil pathways. The rest of the chemical production chains could be essentially left unchanged, provided the process energy input is renewable.

Structural, Magnetic and Acetone Sensing Properties of Barium- Calcium Hexaferrite Synthesized by Sol- Gel Auto Combustion Method

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Materials in Engineering, 2020
In this research, barium calcium hexaferrite (Ba1-xCaxFe12O19 , 0≤x£1) nanoparticles were synthesized through a sol-gel combustion method. The dried gel samples were then calcined at 950ºC for 4:30h.

Chasing the perfida Albione: Anglo‐Italian productivity gap in the late 1930s

open access: yesThe Economic History Review, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents new estimates of Anglo‐Italian labour productivity levels in manufacturing in the late 1930s, derived using the standard single‐deflation approach. The findings confirm a substantial productivity gap between Italy and the United Kingdom at the aggregate level, alongside pronounced intersectoral heterogeneity.

Improving low-rank coal flotation using a mixture of oleic acid and dodecane as collector [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
Low-rank coals (LRC) are abundant but underutilized due to their hydrophilic nature and high oxygen content, which hinder flotation efficiency. Traditional single-collector systems often result in low recovery rates and high reagent consumption.

Microwave‐Assisted Recycling of Lithium‐Ion Batteries: Linking Process Optimization to Volatile Organic Compounds and Fluorinated Gases Emission Mitigation

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 5, Issue 2, March 2026.
Microwave‐assisted recycling of black mass from spent lithium‐ion batteries was optimized through a Design of Experiments approach, linking heating parameters to lithium recovery efficiency and volatile emissions. Combining GC–MS and multinuclear NMR analyses, the study identifies key conditions minimizing hazardous fluorinated and organic gas ...
