Observables and dispersion relations in κ-Minkowski spacetime [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We revisit the notion of quantum Lie algebra of symmetries of a noncommutative spacetime, its elements are shown to be the generators of infinitesimal transformations and are naturally identified with physical observables. Wave equations on noncommutative spaces are derived from a quantum Hodge star operator.

Autoparallels and the Inverse Problem of the Calculus of Variations

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT We prove that autoparallel curves associated with a torsion‐free but not necessarily metric‐compatible affine connection can be derived from an action principle. We explicitly construct the action functional and show by standard variational techniques that it produces the desired equations.

Is Spacetime Locally Flat?

open access: yesPhilosophy of Physics
I review three senses in which the slogans, “spacetime is locally flat,” and/or “spacetime is locally approximately flat” can be justified. The background is a recent paper of Fletcher and Weatherall, which focuses on two of these senses: (i) that each ...

On Gauge‐Invariant Entire Function Regulators and UV Finiteness in Non Local Quantum Field Theory

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 4, April 2026.
We regulate the theory with an entire function of the covariant operator F(□/M∗2)$F(\square /M^{2}_{*})$. In the perturbative vacuum this becomes a momentum‐space factor F(−p2/M∗2)$F(-p^{2}/M^{2}_{*})$ that exponentially damps high momenta, most transparent after Wick rotation, rendering loop integrals UV finite.

Holographic Carrollian conformal scalars

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We provide holographic realisations in Minkowski spacetime of a free conformal Carrollian scalar field living at null infinity. To this end, we first show that the electric and magnetic limits of a relativistic conformal scalar are equivalent and we ...

All partial breakings in N=2 $$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ supergravity with a single hypermultiplet

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
We consider partial supersymmetry breaking in N=2 $$ \mathcal{N}=2 $$ supergravity coupled to a single vector and a single hypermultiplet. This breaking pattern is in principle possible if the quaternion-Kähler space of the hypermultiplet admits (at ...

κ-Deformations and Extended κ-Minkowski Spacetimes [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2014
We extend our previous study of Hopf-algebraic $\kappa$-deformations of all inhomogeneous orthogonal Lie algebras ${\rm iso}(g)$ as written in a tensorial and unified form. Such deformations are determined by a vector $\tau$ which for Lorentzian signature can be taken time-, light- or space-like.

Universal Entanglement and an Information‐Complete Quantum Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 4, April 2026.
This Perspective summarize an informationcomplete quantum theory which describes a fully quantum world without any classical systems and concepts. Here spacetime/gravity, having to be a physical quantum system, universally entangles matter (matter fermions and their gauge fields) as an indivisible trinity, and encodes information‐complete physical ...

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Swampland: The Cosmologist's Handbook to the String‐Theoretical Swampland Programme

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 74, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract String theory has strong implications for cosmology, implying the absence of a cosmological constant, ruling out single‐field slow‐roll inflation, and that black holes decay. The origins of these statements are elucidated within the string‐theoretical swampland programme.

A new derivation of the Minkowski metric

open access: yesJournal of Physics Communications, 2023
The four dimensional spacetime continuum, as first conceived by Minkowski, has become the dominant framework within which to describe physical laws.
