Quantum instability of Minkowski spacetime
Abstract Taking into account vacuum fluctuations through a quadratic curvature term in the gravitational action, a minusuperspace model is constructed where the stability of Minkowski spacetime is analyzed. We find it to be unstable independently of the quadratic term coupling constant.

Time as a geometric property of space
The proper description of time remains a key unsolved problem in science. Newton conceived of time as absolute and universal which it `flows equably without relation to anything external'}.

Semiclassical causal geodesics: Minkowski spacetime case
We use an integral quantization model based on the Heisenberg–Weyl group to describe the motion of a spinless particle in the Minkowski background spacetime.

Covariant action for self-dual p-form gauge fields in general spacetimes
Sen’s action for a p-form gauge field with self-dual field strength coupled to a spacetime metric g involves an explicit Minkowski metric and the presence of this raises questions as to whether the action is coordinate independent and whether it can be ...

κ-Minkowski Spacetimes and DSR Algebras: Fresh Look and Old Problems
Some classes of Deformed Special Relativity (DSR) theories are reconsidered within the Hopf algebraic formulation. For this purpose we shall explore a minimal framework of deformed Weyl-Heisenberg algebras provided by a smash product construction of DSR ...

Poincaré Covariant k-Minkowski Spacetime
A fully Poincare' covariant model is constructed out of the k-Minkowski spacetime. Covariance is implemented by a unitary representation of the Poincare' group, and thus complies with the original Wigner approach to quantum symmetries. This provides yet another example (besides the DFR model), where Poincare' covariance is realised a` la Wigner in the ...

A de Sitter S-matrix from amputated cosmological correlators
Extending scattering to states with unphysical mass values (particles “off their mass shell”) has been instrumental in developing modern amplitude technology for Minkowski spacetime.

In special relativity, particle trajectories, whether mass-bearing or not, can be traced on the Minkowski spacetime manifold in (3+1)D. Meantime, in quantum mechanics, trajectories in the phase space are not strictly outlined because coordinate and ...

A numerical analysis of Araki-Uhlmann relative entropy in Quantum Field Theory
We numerically investigate the Araki-Uhlmann relative entropy in Quantum Field Theory, focusing on a free massive scalar field in 1+1-dimensional Minkowski spacetime.
