Volatile‐Driven Antioxidant Activity of Pomelo Peel Essential Oil: Bridging Chemical Composition and Cellular Redox Modulation

open access: yesBiochemistry Research International, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Pomelo (Citrus maxima) peel essential oil is a volatile‐terpenoid‐rich plant extract that may exhibit antioxidant‐associated effects in biological systems. However, the relationship among its chemical composition, conventional antioxidant capacity, and cellular effects under oxidative stress remains insufficiently defined.

Quantitative Variations in the Essential Oil of Minthostachys mollis (Kunth.) Griseb. in Response to Insects with Different Feeding Habits

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2005
Plants display a diverse array of inducible changes in secondary metabolites following insect herbivory. Herbivores differ in their feeding behavior, physiology, and mode of attachment to the leaf surface, and such variations might be reflected in the induced responses of damaged plants.

The Potential of Secondary Metabolites in Medicinal Plants as Anti–Quorum Sensing in Biofilms: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The formation of biofilms occurs due to a group of bacteria gathering together. The increasing of cell density will stimulate chemical signals for bacteria to communicate through quorum sensing system. Quorum sensing plays a role for competition, virulence, resistance, and pathogenesis. Quorum sensing produces signaling response called as autoinducers.
