An Aneurysm of Right-Sided Aortic Arch With Mirror-Image Brachiocephalic Branching

Journal of Thoracic Imaging, 2005
The patient is a 63-year-old man whose right retroesophageal aortic arch with mirror-image braciocephalic branching was discovered incidentally on computer tomography (CT), performed after a minor motor vehicle accident 12 years ago. The size of the aortic arch was normal at that time. The patient had no other congenital cardiac anomalies.

Right aortic arch, right patent ductus arteriosus, and mirror-image branching of the brachiocephalic vessels

CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology, 1978
Two patients with a right aortic arch, right patent ductus arteriosus, and mirror-image branching of the brachiocephalic vessels are described. The clinical, angiographic, and surgical findings in these two cases are detailed, and a description of the embryologic basis for these anomalies is given.

MR of right aortic arch with mirror-image branching and a left ligamentum arteriosum: An unusual cause of a vascular ring

Pediatric Radiology, 1995
An unusual case is presented of a vascular ring due to a right arch with mirror-image branching and a left ligamentum arteriosum from the descending aorta to the left pulmonary artery. There have been only four previous reports of this rare arch anomaly.

Incidentally detected right aortic arch with mirror image branching in a patient with rheumatic calcific mitral valve disease

The National Medical Journal of India, 2018
An isolated right-sided aortic arch with no congenital heart disease is extremely rare. We report an adult woman with longstanding rheumatic heart disease causing severe calcific mitral stenosis, moderate mitral regurgitation and moderate pulmonary hypertension, for which she underwent mitral valve replacement and tricuspid annuloplasty.

Right aortic arch with mirror-image branching causing vascular ring. A new classification of the right aortic arch patterns

British Journal of Radiology, 1973
Abstract Three patients with right aortic arch and mirror-image branching of the major arteries are presented. In contrast to those reported in the literature, none had associated cardiac defects and all of them had severe symptoms resulting from vascular ring, which required surgical treatment.

Prenatal diagnosis of right aortic arch with mirror‐image branching without associated anomalies

Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research, 2013
AbstractA pregnant woman at 32 weeks of gestation was referred because of untypical visualization of a three‐vessel tracheal view. Detailed ultrasound examination demonstrated an abnormal position of descending aorta, positioned at the right‐front side of the spine at the level of four‐chamber view.

Thallium-201 myocardial SPECT in a patient with mirror-image dextrocardia and left bundle branch block

Annals of Nuclear Medicine, 2003
A 53-year-old male patient with a previous diagnosis of situs inversus with mirror-image dextrocardia underwent thallium-201 (Tl-201) stress-redistribution myocardial perfusion single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). Electrocardiogram (ECG) obtained on right hemithorax revealed constant complete left bundle branch block.

Right Aortic Arch with Mirror Image Branching and Situs Solitus: A case report on anatomic variation

The FASEB Journal, 2020
During a routine cadaver dissection performed by first year medical students at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, a 60‐year‐old female cadaver was found to have right aortic arch with mirror image branching (RAMI). The descending aorta was observed to pass to the right of the midline and subsequently to cross left, anterior to the

Patterns of Right Aortic Arch and Mirror-Image Branching of the Brachiocephalic Vessels Without Associated Anomalies

Pediatric Cardiology, 2001
It is unusual to have a right aortic arch with mirror-image branching of the brachiocephalic vessels and no associated congenital cardiac anomalies. Pathogenetic factors of this anomaly, and associated development of the derivatives of the pharyngeal arches, have not been explored extensively.
