Face-seal lubrication. 2: Theory of response to angular misalignement [PDF]

open access: yes
A theoretical analysis was made of a hypothetical seal operating mode. The hypothetical seal model provides for three degrees of primary ring motion and includes the force and moments induced by primary ring response to seat angular misalignment.

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Edge Couplers with relaxed Alignment Tolerance for Pick-and-Place Hybrid Integration of III-V Lasers with SOI Waveguides

open access: yes, 2013
We report on two edge-coupling and power splitting devices for hybrid integration of III-V lasers with sub-micrometric silicon-on-insulator (SOI) waveguides. The proposed devices relax the horizontal alignment tolerances required to achieve high coupling

Sufficient Conditions Used in Admittance Selection for Planar Force-guided Assembly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Admittance control approaches show significant promise in providing reliable force-guided assembly. An important issue in the development of these approaches is the specification of an appropriate admittance control law.

Addressing misalignments

open access: yes
Spanish business enterprises have become the main international actors in the Peruvian infrastructure sector. These infrastructure projects often take place in the territories of indigenous peoples, causing them several negative impacts. In the case study of this thesis, a Spanish infrastructure business enterprise gains the tender to build an ...

Spiritual Misalignment

open access: yesShodh Sagar Journal of Language, Arts, Culture and Film
Traditional interpretations of separation, particularly within intimate or marital relationships, often equate parting with failure. This research challenges that notion by introducing the concept of spiritual misalignment—a deeper, non-pathological reason for separation between two individuals. Using philosophical, psychological, and historical lenses,

Signatures of Edge States in Antiferromagnetic Van der Waals Josephson Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The combination of superconductivity and magnetic textures leads to unconventional superconducting phenomena, including new correlated and topological phases. Van der Waals (vdW) materials emerge as a versatile platform for exploring the interplay between these two competing orders.
