Ambivalence at the Helm: How the Positive Effect of Ambivalence to Lead on Leader Integrative Complexity Affects Leaders' Effectiveness

open access: yesJournal of Organizational Behavior, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the phenomenon of ambivalence to lead, characterized as leaders' experience of mixed feelings (positive and negative) toward their leadership position. We do so by integrating the beneficial role of dualities with the affect‐as‐information theory.

Frequent, Intense and Prolonged Human‐Perceived Heat Waves Over the Arabian Peninsula in Recent Decades

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
The spatial distribution of WBGT exhibits a widespread and significant warming trend across the Arabian Peninsula (AP), with, particularly, strong increases observed over the central and northern inland and eastern coastal regions of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, where trends exceed ~0.25°C decade−1.

Robust Spectroscopic Analysis Through Image‐Based Spectral Representation and Deep Learning Techniques

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
This study addresses calibration drift in Raman spectroscopy by transforming 1D spectra into 2D spider plot images processed by pretrained convolutional neural networks. This visualization strategy effectively converts detrimental spectral wavenumber shifts into simple image rotations, allowing the deep learning model to maintain high classification ...

From niche to scale: enabling factors for saline agriculture in the North Sea and Mediterranean regions

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Salinisation is one of the most pressing environmental challenges affecting agricultural land and food production worldwide. Although the challenge is substantial, saline agriculture represents a promising approach that integrates soil, water and crop management practices tailored to salt‐affected lands, enabling both adaptation to ...

Overview of the re‐evaluation of trace elements as nutritional feed additives in the European Union: characterization, safety, and efficacy

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract The re‐evaluation of feed additives in the European Union was outlined in the Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003. The primary objectives were to ensure safety and verify efficacy, as well as to update authorizations and phase out unsafe additives or those in which the industry expressed no interest.

Good Engineering Beats Good Metrics

open access: yesJournal of the Society for Information Display, EarlyView.
Contact‐controlled transistors should be judged by how their device characteristics combine to deliver circuit‐ and system‐level outcomes, rather than by isolated headline metrics. In display applications, low saturation voltage and output conductance can reduce supply voltage and improve uniformity, while contact engineering and asymmetric switch ...
