Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

EVALUATING ALTERNATIVE METHODS OF DEALING WITH MISSING OBSERVATIONS - AN ECONOMIC APPLICATION

open access: yes
This paper compares methods to remedy missing value problems in survey data. The commonly used methods to deal with this issue are to delete observations that have missing values (case-deletion), replace missing values with sample mean (mean imputation),

The influence of life course socioeconomic position on cognitive function and cognitive decline in older age: the impact of missing data

open access: yes, 2012
Cognitive function has been associated with many physical and mental health conditions, as well as mortality. Cognitive decline is one aspect of ageing that causes anxiety among the general population.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Generalized canonical correlation analysis with missing values

open access: yes
Two new methods for dealing with missing values in generalized canonicalcorrelation analysis are introduced. The first approach, which does notrequire iterations, is a generalization of the Test Equating method availablefor principal component analysis ...

Imputation and estimation under nonignorable nonresponse for household surveys with missing covariate information

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we develop and apply new methods for handling not missing at random (NMAR) nonresponse. We assume a model for the outcome variable under complete response and a model for the response probability, which is allowed to depend on the outcome ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

A comparative analysis of soft computing techniques used to estimate missing precipitation records

open access: yes, 2012
Estimation of missing precipitation records is one of the most important tasks in hydrological and environmental study. The efficiency of hydrological and environmental models is subject to the completeness of precipitation data. This study compared some
