Mistuning Forced Response Characteristics Analysis of Mistuned Bladed Disks

Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power, 2010
The problem of determining the worst-case mistuning pattern and robust maximum mistuning forced response of a mistuned bladed rotor is formulated and solved as an optimization problem. This approach is exemplified on a two-degrees-of-freedom per blade disk model, two three-degrees-of-freedom per blade disk models, and a mistuned two-stage bladed rotor.

A New Mistuning Form in Periodic Structure - Force Mistuning

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
The mistuning of periodic structure was generally considered to be natural parameter mistuning, such as stiffness mistuning, damping mistuning and mass mistuning. However, in engineering practice, there was another kind of mistuning——force mistuning, which has not been studied yet.

Reduced Order Models for Largely Mistuned Blisks with Small Random Mistuning

AIAA Journal, 2020
Mistuning can break the cyclic symmetry of an ideally tuned blisk and cause its forced response to increase drastically.

A New Mistuning Form Existed in Periodic Structure-Force Mistuning

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2012
The mistuning of periodic structure was generally considered to be natural parameter mistuning, such as stiffness mistuning, damping mistuning and mass mistuning. However, in engineering practice, there was another kind of mistuning—force mistuning. Based on a typical concentrated parameter model of periodic structure, the vibration characteristics ...

Probabilistic Mistuning Assessment Using Nominal and Geometry Based Mistuning Methods

Journal of Turbomachinery, 2012
Two deterministic mistuning models utilizing component mode synthesis methods are used in a Monte Carlo simulation to generate mistuned response distributions for a geometrically perturbed integrally bladed rotor. The first method, a frequency-perturbation approach with a nominal mode approximation used widely in academia and industry, assumes airfoil ...

Mistuning Intensity Effect to Optimization of Mistuning Pattern for Bladed Disk

Journal of Fluid Machinery, 2007

Integrally Bladed Rotor Mistuning Identification and Model Updating Using Geometric Mistuning Models

Volume 11: Structures and Dynamics: Structural Mechanics, Vibration, and Damping; Supercritical CO2, 2020
Abstract Non-uniform manufacturing variations and uneven usage wear and damage, referred to as mistuning, can drastically alter the dynamic response of Integrally Blade Rotors (IBR)s. Optical scanners, combined with Finite Element Model (FEM) mesh metamorphosis algorithms, have provided capabilities to create analytical models that ...

Beats of Mistuned Consonances

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1967
Two simultaneously sounding simple tones of M and N cps, respectively, with M:N slightly different from m:n (both small integral numbers) may give rise to a beat sensation with mN − nM beats per second. For the case m = 1, these beats are usually explained as resulting from harmonics created in the ear by distortion.

Dichotic beats of mistuned consonances

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1997
The beats of mistuned consonances (BMCs) result from the presentation of two sinusoids at frequencies slightly mistuned from a ratio of small integers. Several studies have suggested that the source of dichotic BMCs is an interaction within a binaural critical band.

Mistuning in two-part singing

Logopedics Phoniatrics Vocology, 2010
This research describes the strategy of singers in reacting to the pitch deviation from equally tempered (ET) value in their ensemble partner's part in singing two-part a cappella music, and the ability of professional musicians to identify such deviations. Professional singers preferred to maintain the purity of melodic intervals in their own part and
