The different Abε's CTD states act as different “gears” to modulate ATP synthesis/hydrolysis, allowing the cell to adapt to environmental changes. Under unfavorable conditions, ATP synthesis is maintained while hydrolysis is inhibited through extended εCTD (low‐gear mode).

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

ABSTRACT Circadian rhythms orchestrate a host of biological processes in a time‐dependent manner to maintain homeostasis in response to exercise. Within this framework, Rev‐erb‐α, an intracellular nuclear receptor and transcriptional regulator, transcends its role in circadian rhythms to drive myogenesis, muscle remodeling, primary metabolism, and ...

This study identifies upregulated ATP6V0D2 as a key regulator of ox‐LDL‐induced pathological changes in human vascular smooth muscle cells. ATP6V0D2 knockdown alleviates atherosclerosis‐related dysfunction by suppressing ferroptosis, providing a potential target for atherosclerosis.
