Mitogenomic diversity and differentiation of the Buryats
Journal of Human Genetics, 2017In this paper we present a results of first comprehensive study of the complete mitogenomes in the Buryats with regard to their belonging to the main regional (eastern and western Buryats); tribal (Khori, Ekhirid, Bulagad, and Khongodor), and ethno-territorial (Aginsk, Alar, Balagansk, Barguzin, Ida, Khorinsk, Kuda, Selenga, Verkholensk, Olkhon, Tunka,

Towards a mitogenomic phylogeny of Lepidoptera
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2014The backbone phylogeny of Lepidoptera remains unresolved, despite strenuous recent morphological and molecular efforts. Molecular studies have focused on nuclear protein coding genes, sometimes adding a single mitochondrial gene. Recent advances in sequencing technology have, however, made acquisition of entire mitochondrial genomes both practical and ...

Mitogenomic analyses of eutherian relationships
Cytogenetic and Genome Research, 2002Reasonably correct phylogenies are fundamental to the testing of evolutionary hypotheses. Here, we present phylogenetic findings based on analyses of 67 complete mammalian mitochondrial (mt) genomes. The analyses, irrespective of whether they were performed at the amino acid (aa) level or on nucleotides (nt) of first and second codon positions, placed ...

Mitogenomic analyses of caniform relationships
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2007Extant members of the order Carnivora split into two basal groups, Caniformia (dog-like carnivorans) and Feliformia (cat-like carnivorans). In this study we address phylogenetic relationships within Caniformia applying various methodological approaches to analyses of complete mitochondrial genomes.

Biomics
As a result of sequencing an increasing number of genomes of any nature (nuclear, chloroplast, and also mitochondrial), it became obvious that not a single reference genome of a particular species reflects all the genetic diversity inherent in this species.

The complete mitogenome of Fusarium gerlachii
Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014The structure of the Fusarium gerlachii mitogenome is similar to that of closely related Fusarium graminearum; it has a total length of 93,428 bp, the base composition of the genome is: A (35.3%), T (32.8%), C (14.7%) and G (17.2%). The mitogenome contains 13 protein-coding genes, 2 ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and 28 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes.

Extraordinary variation has been found in mitochondrial (mt) genome inheritance, gene content and arrangement among bivalves. However, only few bivalve mt genomes have been comparatively analyzed to infer their evolutionary scenarios. In this study, the complete mt genome of the venerid Paphia euglypta (Bivalvia: Veneridae) was firstly studied and ...

The fungal order Ophiostomatales contains numerous species important in medical fields, agriculture, and forestry, and several species have had available mitogenome information. The nuclear genome of the entomopathogenic fungus Sporothrix insectorum has been reported, while its mitogenome remains unknown.

Concordance analysis in mitogenomic phylogenetics
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2012Here I advocate the utility of Bayesian concordance analysis as a mechanism for exploring the magnitude and source of phylogenetic signal in concatenated mitogenomic phylogenetic studies. While typically applied to the study of independently evolving gene trees, Bayesian concordance analysis can also be applied to linked, but individually analyzed ...
