In KLF1‐on (neonatal and Klf1 overexpression hearts) models, KLF1 regulates Wnt/β‐catenin signaling pathway and the expression of cell proliferation‐related genes via transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms, which induces cardiomyocyte proliferation and cardiac regeneration in mice after myocardial infarction.

Pds5A and Pds5B Display Non-redundant Functions in Mitosis and Their Loss Triggers Chk1 Activation
BackgroundPds5 is an abundant HEAT-repeat-containing protein that binds to cohesin and mediates sister chromatid cohesion. In vertebrates, Pds5A and Pds5B are known to protect DNA replication fork, as their loss leads to DNA damage.

Sperm‐derived circRNA‐1572 competitively binds to bta‐miR‐2478‐L‐2 through a “sponge” mechanism to regulate cyclin B2 (CCNB2) expression, thereby modulating the distribution of fibrous actin (F‐actin) in early pig embryos, ensuring proper chromosome segregation during mitosis, and facilitating normal embryo cleavage and zygotic genome activation.

To form tissues with unique functions and structures, it is important that the cells that comprise them maintain physical contact. On the other hand, with each mitosis, drastic changes in cell shapes, cell adhesion, and cytoskeletal architecture may ...

Cell cycle regulation of a Xenopus Wee1-like kinase [PDF]
Using a polymerase chain reaction-based strategy, we have isolated a gene encoding a Wee1-like kinase from Xenopus eggs. The recombinant Xenopus Wee1 protein efficiently phosphorylates Cdc2 exclusively on Tyr- 15 in a cyclin-dependent manner.

Targeting miRNA‐1a and miRNA‐15b: A Novel Combinatorial Strategy to Drive Adult Cardiac Regeneration
The article explores a novel therapeutic strategy for cardiac regeneration by targeting miRNA‐1a and miRNA‐15b. Combinatorial inhibition of miR‐1a and miR‐15b enhances cardiomyocyte proliferation, improves heart function, and reduces fibrosis in myocardial infarction models.

Water droplet excess free energy determined by cluster mitosis using guided molecular dynamics [PDF]
Atmospheric aerosols play a vital role in affecting climate by influencing the properties and lifetimes of clouds and precipitation. Understanding the underlying microscopic mechanisms involved in the nucleation of aerosol droplets from the vapour phase ...

Engineering the Immune Response to Biomaterials
This paper reviews immune responses to biomaterials, stages of evolution in relation to managing these responses ranging from preventing to modulating them. It also discusses state‐of‐the‐art strategies to modulate these responses and modes of their delivery.

Replication Stress in Mammalian Cells and Its Consequences for Mitosis
The faithful transmission of genetic information to daughter cells is central to maintaining genomic stability and relies on the accurate and complete duplication of genetic material during each cell cycle.
