ABSTRACT Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is a potentially curative treatment for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH); however, decompensated right heart failure and concomitant cardiac procedures increase the risk of postoperative mortality. We report a case of operable CTEPH with severe mitral regurgitation causing right heart failure

An LVAD patient with severe aortic regurgitation (AR) developed right heart failure and multi‐organ dysfunction (MOD). tRVAD support caused LV overload and pulmonary edema. Impella 5.5 implantation successfully unloaded the LV and stabilized the patient, enabling durable RVAD implantation with surgical aortic valve replacement.

An oral glucose tolerance test in pregnancy and its association with future cardiovascular diseases
Abstract Aims/hypothesis Gestational diabetes and abnormal 100‐g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) results in pregnancy are associated with type 2 diabetes, but their relationship with cardiovascular disease (CVD) is less clear. We evaluated the risk of CVD according to the number of abnormal OGTT values during pregnancy.

The present study shows how 2D‐speckle tracking echocardiographic measures of myocardial rotational mechanics provide valuable information about the LVEF spectrum in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy. The primary outcome of interest is that rotational gradient (RG) is closely linked to global longitudinal strain (GLS).

Dietary and genetic stress trigger different routes to heart failure. In mice, a carbohydrate‐free high‐fat diet caused mitochondrial dysfunction and impaired energy production with preserved pumping function, while genetic obesity led to heart enlargement, fibrosis, and reduced function.
