Changes in Echocardiographic Parameters of Cardiac Function Following Parathyroidectomy: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesEchocardiography, Volume 43, Issue 6, June 2026.
Patients with symptomatic primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) have increased cardiovascular risk related to biochemical abnormalities and structural cardiac changes. We performed a meta‑analysis of 24 studies (881 patients) to evaluate echocardiographic changes following parathyroidectomy. Global longitudinal strain significantly improved after surgery,

Association of Mitral Annular Disjunction on Magnetic Resonance Imaging With Cardiovascular Outcomes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 6, June 2026.
In 1969, consecutive patients undergoing CMR, MAD was assessed in end‐diastole and end‐systole across 2‐, 3‐, and 4‐chamber views (panels A–F, lower left), and native T1 relaxation times were measured at the mitral annulus (upper left, T1 colour map).

A Randomized Trial to Investigate the Effects of Low‐Dose Colchicine in Patients with Hypertension: Rationale and Design of the COlchicine and HypERtENsion Trial (COHERENT)

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Hypertension, Volume 28, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Hypertension is a prevalent and significant risk factor for cardiovascular disease (CVD). The immune system and inflammatory response are involved in the pathophysiology of hypertension. We hypothesize that treating hypertension with colchicine on top of standard therapy, will decrease pulse wave velocity (PWV), left ventricular mass, cardiac ...

Dilated Cardiomyopathy and Aortic Thrombosis in a Capuchin Monkey (Sapajus apella)

open access: yesJournal of Medical Primatology, Volume 55, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This case report describes a capuchin monkey (Sapajus apella) that presented with bilateral paralysis and cold hind limbs. Clinical examination, including ultrasound imaging, revealed dilated cardiomyopathy and aortic thrombosis. Macroscopic, histopathological, and immunohistochemical analyses confirmed these findings.

Modular Upgrade From AVEIR VR to AVEIR DR: A Leadless Dual‐Chamber Pacing Experience in Central Asia

open access: yesPacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, Page 808-810, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Leadless pacing systems have evolved toward modular configurations that enable staged restoration of atrioventricular (AV) synchrony without transvenous leads. Real‐world experience with a sequential upgrade from AVEIR VR to a dual‐chamber AVEIR DR system remains limited.
