Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Hydrodynamic performance enhancement of a mixed-flow pump
IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2012 This paper presents an optimization procedure based on a radial basis neural network surrogate model for design of a vaned diffuser in a mixed-flow pump. Numerical analysis of fluid flow in a mixed-flow pump has been carried out by solving three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations with the shear stress transport turbulence model.

Molecular Oncology, EarlyView.Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
