Optimal Antibody Purification Strategies Using Data-Driven Models
This work addresses the multiscale optimization of the purification processes of antibody fragments. Chromatography decisions in the manufacturing processes are optimized, including the number of chromatography columns and their sizes, the number of ...

Designing networks: A mixed‐integer linear optimization approach [PDF]
Designing networks with specified collective properties is useful in a variety of application areas, enabling the study of how given properties affect the behavior of network models, the downscaling of empirical networks to workable sizes, and the analysis of network temporal evolution.

Causal Prediction of TP53 Variant Pathogenicity Using a Perturbation‐Informed Protein Language Model
A TP53‐specific predictor, CaVepP53, is developed by fine‐tuning ESMC on experimentally validated variants, quantifying pathogenicity via Euclidean distances. It outperforms general‐purpose models and extends to five cancer genes, enabling interpretable variant classification for precision medicine.

DoE.MIParray: An R Package for Algorithmic Creation of Orthogonal Arrays
The R package DoE.MIParray uses mixed integer optimization for creating well-balanced arrays for experimental designs. Its use requires availability of at least one of the commercial optimizers Gurobi or Mosek.

Practical Mixed-Integer Optimization for Geometry Processing [PDF]
Solving mixed-integer problems, i.e., optimization problems where some of the unknowns are continuous while others are discrete, is NP-hard. Unfortunately, real-world problems like e.g., quadrangular remeshing usually have a large number of unknowns such that exact methods become unfeasible.

Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Diffusion–Model–Driven Discovery of Ferroelectrics for Photocurrent Applications
We developed a diffusion model–based generative AI and high‐throughput screening framework that accelerates the discovery of photovoltaic ferroelectrics. By coupling AI driven crystal generation with machine learning and DFT screening, we identified Ca3P2 and LiCdP as new ferroelectric materials exhibiting strong polarization, feasible switching ...

An Interactive Method of Linear Mixed Integer Multicriteria Optimization [PDF]
The paper describes a learning-oriented interactive method for solving linear mixed integer problems of multicriteria optimization. The method increases the possibilities of the decision maker (DM) to describe his/her local preferences and at the same ...

Implied Integrality in Mixed-Integer Optimization
Implied-integer detection is a well-known presolving technique that is used by many Mixed-Integer Linear Programming solvers. Informally, a variable is said to be implied integer if its integrality is enforced implicitly by integrality of other variables and the constraints of a problem.

A Survey of Linear and Mixed-Integer Optimization Tutorials
As advanced undergraduate and graduate students in optimization begin conducting research, they must base their work on articles found in academic journals. However, there is often a gap between the levels at which a journal article and a textbook are written.
