Application of Thiol-Modified Silica Hybrid Monoliths for Hydrophilic Interaction Capillary Liquid Chromatography

open access: yesSains Natural
A silica hybrid monolithic column modified with Thiol-group were successfully prepared via “one-pot” approach; tetramethoxysilane and 3-mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane were mixed together with the porogens in ice bath before being injected into the fused

CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

Untargeted lipidomics profiling for halal authentication of meatball products from mixed meat sources

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X
Food adulteration with non-halal components, particularly in thermally processed meat products like meatballs, presents significant challenges for conventional DNA and protein-based detection methods.

Myogenic Fusogen‐Engineered Lipid Nanoparticles Enhance mRNA Delivery in Skeletal Muscle

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a biomimetic strategy of engineering full‐length Myomaker, a muscle‐specific fusogen, into lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to harness the native myoblast fusion capability for skeletal muscle mRNA delivery. The resulting Mymk‐LNPs enhance transfection in differentiating myocytes and enable Cre‐mediated reporter activation in injured ...

Synthesis, chromatographic evaluation and hydrophilic interaction/reversed-phase mixed-mode behavior of a "Click beta-cyclodextrin" stationary phase

open access: yes, 2009
A native beta-cyclodextrin (beta-CD) stationary phase was prepared by covalently bonding beta-CD on silica particles via Huisgen [3 + 2] dipolar cycloaddition between the organic azide and terminal alkyne, the so-called Click chemistry.

Rapid Microwave Plasma Engineering of HfO2/C@C Core‐Shell Fibrous Membrane Toward Flexible High‐Performance Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rapid microwave plasma torch engineering tunes crystal phases, carbon graphitization and oxygen‐vacancy defects in HfO2/C@C core‐shell fibrous membranes. Synergistic multi‐loss effects optimize impedance matching to deliver −65.75 dB reflection loss and a 7.37 GHz effective bandwidth for flexible electromagnetic wave absorption.

Acetoacetates Derived From Vegetable Oils: A Platform for Tailor‐Made Vinylogous Urethane Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A renewable vegetable oil is converted into acetoacetate‐functionalized precursors for the preparation of catalyst‐free vinylogous urethane foams. Room‐temperature foaming with n‐pentane generates lightweight cellular materials, while the choice of amine enables control over foam structure and mechanical properties.

Photo‐Switchable Molecular Module Programming PET Biodegradation in Aquatic Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We address the plastic durability paradox by integrating an itaconic acid–derived pyrrolidone module into polymer backbones. Sunlight in water triggers Norrish Type I ring‐opening and hydrophilization, enabling rapid biodegradation into nontoxic minerals.

Rapid quantification of underivatized alloisoleucine and argininosuccinate using mixed-mode chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry

open access: yes, 2019
Plasma elevations of the amino acids alloisoleucine and argininosuccinic acid (ASA) are pathognomonic for maple syrup urine disease and argininosuccinate lyase deficiency, respectively.

Decoupling the Size and Loading Effects in Silver Nanoparticles for Efficient Paired Carbon Dioxide and Formaldehyde Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate size‐dependent CO selectivity on Ag nanoparticles, where optimized Ag loading achieves nearly 100% Faradaic Efficiency for CO at −100 mA·cm−2. In situ SERS and XPS reveal the crucial role of optimized loading in catalytic performance. The Ag/C catalyst further exhibits bifunctional activity, enabling efficient electrolysis of CO2 and ...
