Different Al/Al bimetals with a single engineered interface reveal how mechanical mismatch governs fatigue crack growth under cyclic loading. Additionally, loading–unloading–reloading tests link the microyielding behavior to the fatigue crack growth resistance, while crack‐path analysis reveals toughening mechanisms at the interface, highlighting ...

Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

3D Characterization of Mixed-Mode Fracture Toughness of Materials Using a New Loading Device
In this paper, a new loading device was employed to conduct a mixed-mode fracture test. Therefore, disadvantages detected in the previous mixed-mode fracture toughness test methods can be avoided.

Development of an opening-tearing mode fracture system for composite materials
In this paper the mixed-mode I/III prestressed split-cantilever beam fracture specimen [1,2] is developed, which combines the mode-III modified split-cantilever beam [1] and the well-known double-cantilever beam [3] specimens using a special rig.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

A soft, dual‐channel hydrogel patch enables simultaneous detection of wound temperature and strain by integrating ion‐diffusion‐mediated thermoelectric and resistive sensing. The conformal design maintains stable performance during motion, capturing subtle inflammatory and mechanical changes for continuous wound monitoring.

Meso-Scale Simulation of Concrete Based on Fracture and Interaction Behavior
Based on the cohesive zone model, a meso-scale model is developed for numerical studies of three-phase concrete under tension and compression. The model is characterized by adopting mixed-mode fracture and interaction behavior to describe fracture ...
