Partial privatization in price-setting mixed duopoly [PDF]
This paper investigates a price-setting mixed model involving a private firm and a public firm to reassess the welfare effect of partial privatization. First, the government chooses the level of privatization to maximize social welfare. Second, observing

The Shewanella oneidensis Fic enzyme SoFic targets the switch‐I region of EF‐Tu for AMPylation
Fic enzymes mediate diverse post‐translational modifications across all domains of life, including AMPylation. Prokaryotic EF‐Tu can be AMPylated and deAMPylated by the conserved Fic enzyme SoFic. Structural and biochemical approaches were used to characterize the effect of AMPylation on EF‐Tu, SoFic's enzymatic activities, and the enzyme‐target ...

State-Owned Enterprise, Mixed Oligopoly and Entry [PDF]
We analyse state-owned enterprise (SOE) behaviour under pure and mixed oligopoly. An industry comprising at least two SOEs is shown not to have a symmetric stable equilibrium. This suggests the need for planning in such industries.

Chiral separation of chloroalkanes with the chromatographic column onboard Martian rovers
Computer image of the Rosalind Franklin Rover of ESA's ExoMars mission. ExoMars is scheduled to land on planet Mars in Oxia Planum in 2029. This area represents an interesting spot to look for biosignatures. Investigations of ExoMars include measurement on molecular chirality. We show that chiral chloroalkanes, that have been identified on Mars, can be

Synechocystis strains deficient in succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) secrete more succinate than the WT under dark anaerobic conditions, supporting that SDH then primarily acts as SDH, not as a fumarate reductase. L‐aspartate oxidase (Laspo) from Synechocystis is functional under anaerobic conditions, reducing fumarate to succinate.

Leucine‐rich glioma inactivated 1 (LGI1) is a ganglioside‐binding protein
Neuronal hyperexcitability associated with a decrease/absence of the extracellular protein LGI1 has been suggested to be primarily due to the downregulation of Kv1 channel expression. The molecular mechanisms underlying this decrease have not yet been elucidated.

Price Competition in International Mixed Oligopolies [PDF]
In this paper we analyze the effects of international competition in a mixed oligopoly framework, with price competition and differentiated products. The properties of equilibria, and the impact of policy measures such as privatizations and cross-border ...
