Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Algorithms for polycyclic-by-finite groups [PDF]

open access: yes
A set of fundamental algorithms for computing with polycyclic-by-finite groups is presented here. Polycyclic-by-finite groups arise naturally in a number of contexts; for example, as automorphism groups of large finite soluble groups, as quotients of ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Isomorphism of modular group algebras of finite torsion-free rank coproducts of p-mixed countable abelian groups

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2006
Suppose G is with finite torsion-free rank a coproduct of p-mixed countable abelian groups and F is a field with characteristic p such that the group algebras FG and FH are F -isomorphic for another group H . Then G and H are isomorphic.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

The Foe You Know: Observations of Interspecific Interactions Between Small Cetaceans and Northern Resident Killer Whales (Orcinus orca) in the Northeast Pacific

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
We documented the first aerial observations of interspecific interactions of fish‐eating, northern resident killer whales (Orcinus orca) with two small cetacean species, Dall's porpoises (Phocoenoides dalli) and Pacific white‐sided dolphins ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
