Group Work with 'Mixed Membership' Groups
Social Work With Groups, 1994SUMMARY The small group is a social microcosm of the wider society in which it is located. Patterns of social oppression will be repeated in social group work practice unless active steps are taken to counteract these tendencies and replace them with a culture of empowerment.

Mixed Groups of Finite Nilstufe
Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1987AbstractThis paper constructs a class of examples to show that for torsion-free groups H with finite nilstufe v(H) = n < ∞ there can be divisible torsion groups D with v(H ⊕ D) - n + k for all k ≤ n + 1. This answers a question of Feigelstock. The construction is based on a proposition which bounds v(H ⊕ D) in terms of v(H) and rank (D).

Pediatrics, 1960
In Order to deal with the question1 in an intelligent manner it will be necessary to define both "new pediatrics" and "mixed group." It will be further illuminating to ask why the question should be asked: Can the new pediatrics be practiced?" It seems fair to state in answer that the question is asked chiefly because of the discrepancy between the ...

MIXING PATTERNS AMONG EPIDEMIC GROUPS
Advances in Complex Systems, 2011Epidemic modeling has a long tradition in facilitating an understanding of the spread of infectious agents with direct impact on public health. Recent modeling approaches have specifically improved our understanding of the connections between transmission network topology and epidemic spread: Host populations are generally not well mixed and show ...

Part I of this paper appeared in [Proc. Conf., Udine/Italy 1984, CISM Courses Lect. 287, 265-278 (1984; Zbl 0566.20039)]. Sect. 4 is a classification of mixed groups which have a maximal rank tfree subgroup A such that \(\tau\) (A) is finite and \(\tau\) (A/pA)\(\leq 1\) for all primes p. Sect.
