Journal of Microencapsulation, 2019
This study was designed to investigate the bioavailability and targeting of myricetrin-loaded ternary micelles modified with and without TPGS. The particle diameters of myricetrin-loaded micelles and myricetrin-loaded-TPGS micelle were 30.93 ± 1.34 nm ...

Mesophase Separation in Polyelectrolyte-Mixed Micelle Coacervates
Langmuir, 2008Mesophase separation has been identified in a polycation/anionic-nonionic mixed micelle system formed by the coacervation of poly(diallyldimethylammoniumchloride)/sodium dodecylsulfate-Triton X-100 in 0.40 M NaCl. The resultant dense, optically clear fluid was studied by turbidity, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and rheology.

Pharmaceutical development and technology (Print), 2019
Clinically, co-delivery of chemotherapeutics has been limited by poor water-solubility and severe systemic toxicity. This study was aimed at integrating the merits of combination chemotherapy and mixed micellar technology and demonstrating the anticancer

Solubilization of hydrocarbons by surfactant micelles and mixed micelles
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1989Abstract Extensive and highly precise vapor pressure results have been obtained for solutions of cyclohexane and hexane in cationic, anionic, and nonionic surfactant micelles, and in mixed anionic-nonionic, cationic-nonionic, and anionic-cationic micelles.

The incorporation of solubilizates into a surfactant micelle results in the formation of a mixed micelle. Solubilization is thus closely related to mixed micelle formation. As ususally used, however, the mixed micelle means a micelle composed of surfactants capable themselves of forming micelles.

Mixed micelles in drug delivery
Nature, 1992Large disk-like mixed micelles composed of a drug and biological lipid are thermodynamically stable and represent a novel drug delivery system. Their unique physical properties are reflected in a significantly improved therapeutic index.

Thermodynamics of mixed micelle formation
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1986Abstract A new method of calculating the composition of mixed micelles in equilibrium with monomer of known composition is proposed. This technique applies the Gibbs-Duhem equation to be mixed micelle, which is treated as a pseudophase. The method needs only CMC data as a function of monomer composition, but is limited to binary surfactant systems ...

Chitosan reduces vitamin D bioaccessibility in food emulsions by binding to mixed micelles.
Food & Function, 2019Consumption of sufficiently high quantities of dietary fibers has been linked to a range of health benefits. Recent research, however, has shown that some dietary fibers interfere with lipid digestion, which may reduce the bioavailability of oil-soluble ...

Evolution of Multicompartment Micelles to Mixed Corona Micelles Using Solvent Mixtures
Langmuir, 2008Miktoarm star triblock copolymers mu-[poly(ethylethylene)][poly(ethylene oxide)][poly(perfluoropropylene oxide)] self-assemble in dilute aqueous solution to give multicompartment micelles with the cores consisting of discrete poly(ethylethylene) and poly(perfluoropropylene oxide) domains.
