Solubilization in mixed micelles
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1990Solubilization capacities for decane have been determined for a variety of mixed surfactant systems. Negative deviations from additivity are observed for nonionic/ionic mixtures where there are no attractive interactions between the surfactant headgroups.

Nonionic Surfactant Micelles and Mixed Micelles with Phospholipids
1979The solution properties of nonionic surfactants of the polyoxyethylene variety and their interactions with various phospholipids are reviewed. Studies on polydisperse surfactants of the octylphenylpolyoxyethylene (OPE) class such as Triton X-100 as well as on homogeneous, monodisperse surfactants such as octylphenylnonaoxyethylene glycol (OPE-9) and n ...

Counterion binding on mixed micelles

1979
Aqueous solutions of two surfactants exhibit striking alterations in physical properties such as surface tension and intensity of scattered light which can be associated with the formation of micelles. The micelles in binary surfactant solutions contain both surfactant components in equilibrium with the monomeric species in the aqueous phase.

Demixing in Ternary Mixed Micelles
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1998Micellar demixing yielding conjugate micellar phases that coexist in an aqueous solution is known for a very few surfactant systems even though the presence of two distinct types of micelles in solution has practical application. Here, on the basis of a pseudophase regular solution model for surfactant chemical potentials, we predict micellar demixing ...

Enthalpies of mixed-micelle formation
Journal of the Chemical Society, Faraday Transactions 1: Physical Chemistry in Condensed Phases, 1985Critical micelle concentrations have been measured for binary mixtures of an anionic and a polyoxyethylenated non-ionic surfactant in aqueous solution. The data were used to calculate the molecular interaction parameter β in the Rubingh theory of mixed-micelle formation.

Dynamic characteristics of mixed micelles
Colloids and Surfaces A: Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects, 1993Abstract The results of investigations of relaxation processes occurring in sodium n -octylbenzenesulfonate aqueous solutions and alcohol—water—sulfonol systems have been given. The kinetic characteristics of the entrance/exit of surfactant molecules into/from a micelle have also been obtained. The system lability has been shown to reach its maximum

Growth of Mixed Nonionic Micelles
Langmuir, 1997Static and quasielastic light-scattering measurements were utilized to investigate the shape, size, and polydispersity of mixed micelles composed of the nonionic surfactants dodecyl hexaoxyethylene...
