Estimation of genetic parameters and verification of early selection efficiency in baru (Dipteryx alata) [PDF]
This study aimed at verifying the efficiency of early selection, and estimating the genetic parameters in Dipteryx alata. The 66 half-sib families were obtained from three seed provenances at the Brazilian Savannah of the state of Minas Gerais.

A review of R-packages for random-intercept probit regression in small clusters
Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMMs) are widely used to model clustered categorical outcomes. To tackle the intractable integration over the random effects distributions, several approximation approaches have been developed for likelihood-based ...

Mixed-Domain Modeling in Modelica [PDF]
Modelica is a language for convenient, component oriented modeling of physical systems. In this article, an overview of the language, available libraries, the Dymola simulator and some industrial applications is given. Additionally, a comparison of Modelica with VHDL-AMS is presented.

Half-Normal Plots and Overdispersed Models in R: The hnp Package
Count and proportion data may present overdispersion, i.e., greater variability than expected by the Poisson and binomial models, respectively. Different extended generalized linear models that allow for overdispersion may be used to analyze this type of

Nonlinear quantile mixed models
In regression applications, the presence of nonlinearity and correlation among observations offer computational challenges not only in traditional settings such as least squares regression, but also (and especially) when the objective function is non ...

Generalized fiducial inference for normal linear mixed models [PDF]
While linear mixed modeling methods are foundational concepts introduced in any statistical education, adequate general methods for interval estimation involving models with more than a few variance components are lacking, especially in the unbalanced ...

Models of neutrino masses and mixings
We review theoretical ideas, problems and implications of neutrino masses and mixing angles. We give a general discussion of schemes with three light neutrinos. Several specific examples are analyzed in some detail, particularly those that can be embedded into grand unified theories.
