Experimental investigation on the miniature mixed refrigerant refrigerator driven by a mini-compressor

Tri-Technology Device Refrigeration (TTDR) III, 2018
Three miniature Joule-Thomson cryogenic coolers and a testing set up were built to investigate the cooling performance in this work. Shell-and-tube heat exchanger and plate fin heat exchangers with rectangular micro channels were designed to achieve high specific surface area.

The Preliminary Study on Mixed Refrigerants of a Four-Stage Auto-Cascade Refrigeration

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
A four-stage auto-cascade refrigeration cycle is presented in this paper, the kind of mixed refrigerants is chosen and the proportion is simulated by using the commercial software NIST8.0 software. The optimized proportion of mixed refrigerants is gained through experiment, a method which combining software simulation and experiment to define mixed ...

Performance of mixed refrigerant cascade refrigerator for cooling a space simulation chamber

Indian Journal of Cryogenics, 2014
A mixed refrigerant cascade (MRC) refrigeration system has been developed to replace a conventional two-stage cascade refrigeration system for the cooling of space simulation chambers. A fast cool down of the refrigerator to 193K within a time of 16 min is achieved.

Experimental research on the performance of the diffusion absorption refrigerator with mixed fluoride refrigerants

International Journal of Refrigeration, 2017
Abstract A diffusion absorption refrigerator (DAR) operating with mixed fluoride refrigerants was built to obtain low refrigerating temperature at low generating temperature. Two groups of mixed fluoride refrigerants, R23/R134a and R23/R32/R134a, were tested experimentally.

Deep Eutectic Solvents Mixed with Fluorinated Refrigerants for Absorption Refrigeration: A Molecular Simulation Study

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2020
Molecular simulations were performed to evaluate mixtures of fluorinated refrigerants with deep eutectic solvents (DESs), for potential use in single-effect absorption refrigeration cycles that use low quality waste heat sources at temperatures of ∼80 °C.

Micro Cryogenic Coolers With Mixed Refrigerants

Volume 1: Advanced Packaging; Emerging Technologies; Modeling and Simulation; Multi-Physics Based Reliability; MEMS and NEMS; Materials and Processes, 2013
A number of small electronic devices benefit from micro-scale low temperature operation. Recently we have developed micro cryogenic coolers (MCCs) using a low-pressure, mixed-refrigerant Joule-Thomson cycle. The cryocoolers utilizes a MEMS-enabled gas compressor coupled to a micro cold stage.

Optimization of a vapor injection refrigeration cycle using hydrocarbon mixed refrigerants

International Journal of Refrigeration, 2019
Abstract Refrigeration systems are major consumers of electrical energy in many process industries. Hydrocarbons have regained interest as refrigerants because of the increasing restrictions applied to halogenated fluids. In this work, the use of hydrocarbons mixed refrigerants and an alternative flash tank with vapor injection (FTVI) refrigeration ...

APPLICATION OF CASCADE REFRIGERATION SYSTEM WITH MIXING REFRIGERANT IN COLD AIR CUTTING

International Journal of Modern Physics B, 2005
In the mechanical cutting process, the replacement of traditional cutting solution with cold air can avoid the pollution of environment. In order to high efficient the refrigerating device and flexible adjust the temperature of cold air, it is necessary to use cascade refrigeration system to supply cool quantity for the compressed air.

Properties of Gas Mixtures and Their Use in Mixed-Refrigerant Joule-Thomson Refrigerators

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2004
The Joule‐Thomson (J‐T) effect has been widely used for achieving low temperatures. In the past few years, much progress has been made in better understanding the working mechanism of the refrigeration method and in developing prototypes for different applications. In this talk, there are three aspects of our research work to be discussed.
