Into the mix [PDF]

open access: possibleNature Physics, 2006
The challenge to measure the quantum-mechanical mixing between particle and antiparticle states for a particular type of meson is at last being met — but as yet, alas, reveals no exotic physics.

Mixed fortunes for physics [PDF]

open access: possiblePhysics World, 2004
Scarcely had the dust settled on the US budget for 2004, which was finally agreed by Congress last month, than the Bush administration presented its budget proposal for financial year 2005. However, the costs of the war against terrorism and calls to reduce the country's deepening deficit have left budget-makers little latitude to boost funds for ...

Turbulent mixing with physical mass diffusion

Physical Review E, 2006
Simulated mixing rates of the Rayleigh-Taylor instability for miscible fluids with physical mass diffusion are shown to agree with experiment; for immiscible fluids with physical values of surface tension the numerical data lie in the center of the range of experimental values.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF SOIL MIXES

Soil Science, 1964
Laboratory methods for evaluating soil mixes for potting media are proposed, and measurement values from laboratory-compacted smaples are correlated with equivalent ones made under actual use of the mixes in gallon-sized soil containers in greenhouse conditions.

An Approach to a Physical Understanding of Color Mixing

The Physics Teacher, 2020
Although nearly everyone is familiar with colors from an early age and the fundamentals of color mixing are taught at various abstraction levels throughout kindergarten to high school, we repeatedly observe that our student teachers in physics have problems in explaining the subject.

UNPARTICLE PHYSICS AND NEUTRAL MESON MIXING

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 2008
The concept of exact and broken scale invariance is discussed. We give a brief introduction to unparticle physics. The neutral meson mixing can be caused by exchange of unparticle at the tree level. The constraints on interaction between unparticle and SM quarks are discussed.

Oxford Laboratory Mixes Physics and Archeology

Physics Today, 1967
If an archeologist sat down to dinner with a physicist, their conversation might stir up ways to pursue the two sciences together. Such a meeting happened once at the University of Oxford and the resulting laboratory, established in 1955 by C. F. C. Hawkes and Viscount Cherwell, is now carrying on what is probably the world's most intense program of ...

A mixed cells physical design approach

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2015
This work presents a design flow using a mixed cells design approach, mixing standard cells from a library with cells generated automatically with ASTRAN [1]. Moreover, a new technique using Artificial Neural Networks was developed to perform a comparison between two different cells, a standard cell one and ASTRAN's cell.
