On Cell Signalling Mechanism of Mycobaterium Leprae Soluble Antigen (MLSA) in Jurkat T Cells
Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 2006We investigated the role of Mycobaterium leprae soluble antigen (MLSA) in the modulation of calcium signalling, phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinases and IL-2 mRNA expression in human Jurkat T cells. We observed that MLSA induced an increase in free intracellular calcium concentrations, [Ca2+]i, via opening CRAC (Ca2+-release ...

Tolerance to the minor lymphocyte stimulating (Mls) self-antigens has been shown to be due to the intrathymic deletion of T-cell clones bearing certain T-cell receptor (TcR) V beta regions. T cells bearing these V beta regions (V beta 6, V beta 7, V beta 8.1, V beta 9) are deleted in Mlsa-positive mice.

Nonresponsiveness to Mlsd in F1 hybrid mice carrying Mlsa and Mlsc genes.
The Journal of Immunology, 1987Abstract Neither the biological function nor a basic understanding of the enigmatic chromosome 1-encoded Mls locus of the mouse has yet been uncovered despite extensive investigations. The present report is a continuation of our genetic analyses of the Mls locus in an attempt to better define the system. Data presented here indicate that

Unresponsiveness to Mlsa induced in newborn Mlsb mice by maternal preimmunization.
Immunology, 1991Female BALB/c (H-2d, Mlsb) mice alloimmunized prior to and during syngeneic pregnancy with DBA/2 (H-2d, Mlsa) splenocytes gave rise to offspring with severely reduced responsiveness in adult life to DBA/2 stimulation in vitro mixed lymphocyte cultures.

Murine hybridomas secreting monoclonal antibodies reacting with Mlsa antigens.
Experimental and clinical immunogenetics, 1994Murine monoclonal antibodies have been developed from spleens of AKR mice hyperimmunised with the monoclonal antibody against TCR-V beta 6. Two new monoclonal antibodies called AL-12-3 and AL-32-7 were able to specifically block Mlsa-induced but not MHC-induced mixed lymphocyte responses in a dose-dependent manner. Both antibodies are mouse IgG3 lambda

Evolutionary history of Ralstonia Solanacearum inferred from MLSA
2012We used multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) on a worldwide collection of the plant pathogenic Ralstonia solanacearum (Betaproteobacteria) to retrace its complex evolutionary history. Using genetic imprints left during Ralstonia solanacearum evolution, we were able to delineate distinct evolutionary complex displaying contrasting dynamics.
