Three Distinct Species Cause Bacterial Leaf Spots in ‘Ubá’ Mango in Zona da Mata, Minas Gerais, Brazil

ABSTRACT ‘Ubá’ mango is a fruit crop of great value for farmers in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Organic farmers from this region recently reported a severe outbreak of foliar black spots of unknown aetiology in orchards of this mango variety, causing significant concern.

In this study, a high GABA‐producing strain was isolated and screened from Jiangshui, through isolation and purification, Gram staining, and HPLC determination. The strain was identified as Lactiplantibacillus plantarum XBMU‐SN‐23 via 16S rDNA gene sequence analysis.

First Report of Ophiostoma clavatum and Fusarium verticillioides Associated With Ips acuminatus‐Infested Scots Pine in Western Ukraine

This study provides the first record of Ophiostoma clavatum associated with Ips acuminatus in Ukraine, and the first evidence of Fusarium verticillioides coexisting with ophiostomatoid fungi in infested Scots pines. This fungal association may contribute to the decline of Scots pine stands.

Distinct Denitrification Phenotypes in Closely Related Bacteria: Clues to Understanding Variations in Nitrite Accumulation Among Stutzerimonas Strains
