MLVA-16 typing of Brucella suis biovar 2 strains circulating in Europe

Veterinary Microbiology, 2017
Swine brucellosis due to Brucella suis biovar 2 is an emerging disease in Europe, associated with increase of extensive swine farms and high density of infected wild boars. Since knowledge of predominant circulating strains is a prerequisite for any epidemiological study, accurate molecular typing procedures were applied to a collection of 176 B.

Genotipizacija izolata Brucella melitensis u Republici Hrvatskoj metodom MLVA

2015
In the period from 2009 to 2013, bacteriological testing was conducted on 336 sheep, goat and cattle samples. Using classical bacteriological and molecular procedures, B. melitensis was confirmed in 14 (4.2 %) samples. Brucella was isolated in Karlovac, Lika-Senj and Split-Dalmatia Counties.

A minisatellite-based MLVA scheme for typing Xanthomonas citri pv.mangiferaeindicae

2008
Molecular typing techniques can be useful for improving our understanding on the epidemiology of bacterial plant pathogens. MLVA (multi-locus variable number of tandem repeats analysis) is suitable for typing bacterial species or pathovars with low overall genetic diversity. We evaluated the MLVA scheme developed for Xanthomonas citri pv.
