Matrix Metalloproteinase Inhibition in Melanoma. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are involved in the degradation of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and are found to participate in all stages of tumour progression including modifying signalling pathways, regulating cytokines and promoting tumour growth, particularly by inducing angiogenesis and facilitating cancer spread.

Bioresponsive Hyaluronic Acid-Based Hydrogel Inhibits Matrix Metalloproteinase-2 in Glioblastoma Microenvironment. [PDF]
A bioresponsive hydrogel based on hyaluronic acid crosslinked with a MMP inhibitor (HA‐MMPI) is generated to modulate the glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) microenvironment. In preliminary tests with 3D U87 models, HA‐MMPI selectively inhibits MMP‐2, reducing cell migration.

Two Views of Invalid Response Set and Malingering Attributions in Forensic Assessment: Credibility and Non-Credibility. [PDF]
ABSTRACT This article reviews two major sets of six articles on malingering and invalid response set, which have diametrically opposite conclusions on the value of performance and symptom validity tests (PVTs and SVTs) in forensic and related disability assessments (FDRA). First, we review the six‐article series by the Leonhards, which takes the stance

Innovative Tracheal Tube Design Enhances Oral Health in Intubated Patients. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Endotracheal intubation is a crucial intervention for mechanically ventilated patients in the intensive care unit (ICU). However, the presence of the tube and bite block in the mouth significantly raises the risk of mucosal pressure injuries (MMPI) and other oral complications.

MMPI/MMPI-2:Comparisons of Amnesic Patients [PDF]
The amnesic population provides a unique opportunity to examine the reliability of clinical tests because amnesics do not consciously recollect initial testing sessions. In this study, amnesic subjects were studied to examine the reliability between the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and the MMPI-2.

Osteocytes under Mechanical Loading Regulate PC-3 Cancer Cell-Mineral Interactions during Early-Stage Metastasis to Bone. [PDF]
In this study, Seaman et al. develop a co‐culture assay to examine interactions between prostate cancer cells and mineralized osteoblasts in a microfluidic platform. The authors collect conditioned media from static or flow‐stimulated osteocytes and demonstrate that mechanical loading of osteocytes regulates the growth of prostate cancer cells and ...
