Superposition of Doppler‐Shifting Magnetopause Kelvin‐Helmholtz Modes Through Dynamic Mode Decomposition of a Global MHD Simulation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract The Kelvin‐Helmholtz instability (KHI) mediates the viscous‐like solar‐terrestrial interaction by generating magnetopause surface waves that quickly become non‐linear. Basic theory predicts the locally most‐unstable linear wave dominates.

Genetic Control of Tissue Remodeling by a Non‐Coding SNP in ITGA8 Explains Carotenoid‐Based Color Polymorphism in Marine Mollusks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 27, 13 May 2026.
In this study, the orange‐muscle giant abalone (Haliotis gigantea) is used as a model to identify a non‐coding SNP that disrupts the interaction between ITGA8 pre‐mRNA and the splicing factor ILF2, leading to altered ITGA8 splicing. These splicing changes promote carotenoid accumulation in abalone muscle through the regulation of tissue remodeling ...

Glucuronolactone Promotes Mucin Sulfation to Alleviate Deoxynivalenol‐Induced Intestinal Injury via Microbiota‐Dependent and ‐Independent AHR Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Glucuronolactone (GLU) as a natural metabolite of glucose, increases Lactobacillus amylovorus abundance and luminal IAA level to activate AHR signaling. In addition, GLU itself can directly elevate AHR signaling activity independently of microbiota and IAA.

Probing the Biological Plausibility of Fluoride as an Endocrine Disruptor

open access: yesBirth Defects Research, Volume 118, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Fluoride has come under recent scrutiny regarding concerns over potential neurodevelopmental and endocrine‐related toxicities, with recent reviews by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) concluding with moderate or reasonable confidence, respectively, that exposure to drinking water having ...

Off‐Farm Employment and Rural Energy Transitions: A Systematic Review of Pathways and Gaps

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Transitioning to clean and affordable energy is a persistent development challenge for rural populations in low‐ and middle‐income countries, where dependence on traditional biomass‐based fuels continues to dominate. Although off‐farm employment has gained increasing attention as a driver of rural livelihood transformation, its specific ...
