A Process Calculus for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesScience of Computer Programming, 2008
AbstractWe present the ω-calculus, a process calculus for formally modeling and reasoning about Mobile Ad Hoc Wireless Networks (MANETs) and their protocols. The ω-calculus naturally captures essential characteristics of MANETs, including the ability of a MANET node to broadcast a message to any other node within its physical transmission range (and no

TCP Performance in Ad Hoc Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Ad hoc networks are mobile wireless networks which do not have any kind of fixed infrastructure. The routing layer in an ad hoc network ties the network together into a seamless entity and provide transparent services to higher layer protocols.

Strategies to Design and Optimize Artificial Antigen‐Presenting Cells for T Cell Expansion in Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in engineering artificial antigen‐presenting cells (aAPCs) as alternatives to dendritic cells for T cell expansion. Key design principles inspired by the immunological synapse are discussed, with emphasis on strategies for polyclonal and antigen‐specific T cell expansion.

A hybrid gateway discovery algorithm for supporting QoS communications in heterogeneous networks

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2016
In most practical applications, ad hoc mobile devices demand the access to wired hosts located beyond the limits of the mobile ad hoc network, forming a heterogeneous wired-cum-wireless network.

On Energy Efficient Hierarchical Cross-Layer Design: Joint Power Control and Routing for Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, a hierarchical cross-layer design approach is proposed to increase energy efficiency in ad hoc networks through joint adaptation of nodes' transmitting powers and route selection.

Plasma‐Treated Hydrogel for Combined RONS and Chemotherapy Delivery: A Proof‐of‐Concept In Ovo

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores plasma‐treated hydrogels (PTH) as a new way to deliver both reactive oxygen and nitrogen species and chemotherapy (Doxorubicin) directly to tumors. In ovo tests show effects after a single dose, especially in osteosarcoma tumors. Tumor weight decrease, and a resistance‐related protein is reduced.

INVESTIGATION OF THE MANET NETWORK PERFORMANCE CONCERNING DIFFERENT ROUTING PROTOCOLS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanics of Continua and Mathematical Sciences
Mobile Ad-Hoc Network is a decentralized organization that operates without a foundation. Due to the Mobile Ad-Hoc Network's self-configurable and simple organizational component, many applications may be run.

A Secure Architecture for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper, we propose a new architecture based on an efficient trust model and clustering algorithm in order to distribute a certification authority (CA) for ensuring the distribution of certificates in each cluster. We use the combination of fully self-organized security for trust model like PGP adapted to ad-hoc technology and the clustering ...

A power efficient method against misbehaving node in reputation system to prevent sybil attack in mobile ad-hoc network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Mobile ad-hoc network has become a very important field of study for students and researchers owing to its wide application. In mobile ad-hoc network all nodes are responsible for routing and forwarding of packets, hence all nodes are required to act ...
