Cost effective wavelength reused MDM system for bidirectional mobile fronthaul

open access: yesOptics Express, 2016
In this paper, we propose a cost-effective wavelength-reused mode-division-multiplexing (MDM) system for high speed symmetrical bidirectional mobile fronthaul application. At the base band unit (BBU) pool, one of the spatial modes is used to transmit signal carrier while the others are used for downstream (DS) signal channels. At the remote radio unit (

Adaptive power management for multiaccess edge computing‐based 6G‐inspired massive Internet of Things

open access: yesIET Wireless Sensor Systems, Volume 15, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The paper proposes a containerised edge computing model for power optimisation in 6G‐inspired massive Internet‐of‐Things applications. The problem is formulated as a central processing unit energy consumption cost function based on quasi‐finite system observations. Results show that the model performs better compared to a competitive baseline algorithm.

Microservice Adaptability and Self‐Organization of UAV‐Assisted Wireless Networks in Failure Rural Scenarios

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Internet access remains unavailable for approximately 2 billion people in remote areas, limiting their access to essential services such as healthcare and education. This paper presents a UAV‐based wireless network architecture combined with a microservice model to ensure the dynamic deployment of IoT applications in rural environments.
