Stretching‐Orientation Reinforced Double Network Solvent‐Free Eutectic Gels for Ultrarobust, Flexible Human‐Machine Interaction Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work develops an ultrarobust, flexible, and solvent‐free eutectic gel featuring stretch‐induced orientation. Overcoming hydrogel limitations, the gel achieves record toughness (133.86 MJ m−3) while integrating strain/temperature/capacitive sensing.

Mimicking Synaptic Plasticity: Optoionic MoS2 Memory Powered by Biopolymer Hydrogels as a Dynamic Cations Reservoir

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Janus (MoS2) transistors functionalized with sodium alginate (SA) and poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐trifluoroethylene) [P(VDF‐TrFE)] exhibit persistent photo‐induced ionic gating, driven by dynamic cation migration at the hybrid interface. This ionic mechanism enables finely tunable photoconductivity and emulates key synaptic plasticity behaviors ...

Metric State Space Reinforcement Learning for a Vision-Capable Mobile Robot

open access: yes, 2006
We address the problem of autonomously learning controllers for vision-capable mobile robots. We extend McCallum's (1995) Nearest-Sequence Memory algorithm to allow for general metrics over state-action trajectories. We demonstrate the feasibility of our

Bioartificial Brains and Mobile Robots

open access: yes, 2011
The growth in neuroscience discoveries continues to be explosive, with new frontiers being reached every year in the understanding of new principles of the central and peripheral nervous system (CNS and PNS), in the interplay between structure and function at different scales (from molecules to behavior), and with the introduction of new technologies ...

Antioxidant and Anti‐Senescence Polyvinyl Alcohol‐Gallic Acid Supramolecular Hydrogels for Stem Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The PVA‐GA hydrogel is formed through hydrogen bonding between PVA hydroxyl groups and GA galloyl units, enabling sustainable GA release and its extended biological activity. The hydrogel scavenges ROS to reduce oxidative stress, preventing mitochondrial damage from excessive ROS, mitigating hADSC senescence, and preserving VEGF secretion, offering a ...

Radiation‐Resistant Bacteria Deinococcus radiodurans‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles as Potential Radioprotectors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Deinococcus radiodurans‐derived extracellular vesicles (R1‐EVs) provide radioprotection against total‐body irradiation‐induced acute radiation syndrome in mice. R1‐EVs mitigate oxidative damage by scavenging free radicals, promoting intestinal repair, enhancing hematopoietic function, and modulating immune responses. This study highlights the potential
