Bayesian Radar Cosplace: Directly estimating location uncertainty in radar place recognition
Trust and explainability in localisation systems can be greatly helped by estimating a calibrated uncertainty. In this work, we argue for the first time that for this, it is best to express uncertainty in the location estimate directly rather than ...

A Protocol for Comparing Dry and Wet EEG Electrodes During Sleep
BackgroundSleep is commonly assessed by recording the electroencephalogram (EEG) of the sleeping brain. As sleep assessments in a lab environment are cumbersome for both the participant and researcher, it would be highly desirable to record sleep EEG ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Discovering Control Scheduler Policies Through Reinforcement Learning and Evolutionary Strategies
This work investigates the viability of using NNs to select an appropriate controller for a dynamic system based on its current state. To this end, this work proposes a method for training a controller-scheduling policy using several learning algorithms,

Simultaneous maximum-likelihood calibration of odometry and sensor parameters [PDF]
For a differential-drive mobile robot equipped with an on-board range sensor, there are six parameters to calibrate: three for the odometry (radii and distance between the wheels), and three for the pose of the sensor with respect to the robot frame ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status
