Metropolitan areas, environmental quality, and talent: Inter‐urban migration of higher education students in Canada, 2019–2020

open access: yesCanadian Geographies / Géographies canadiennes, Volume 70, Issue 3, Autumn / automne 2026.
Abstract This study analyzes the inter‐urban migration of approximately 154,000 higher education students within 17 Canadian census metropolitan areas in the academic year prior to the onset of the COVID‐19 pandemic (2019–2020). Using novel linked data from alternative sources, we applied linear regression and standard cross‐classified multilevel ...

ABCA12 Frameshift Deletion in Domestic Cats With Ichthyosis Fetalis

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 3, Page 365-374, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Ichthyosis fetalis (IF), also known as harlequin ichthyosis, is a rare and often fatal autosomal recessive congenital skin disorder. It is characterized by thickened, hard skin plaques and deep skin fissures that limit mobility and cause malformations of the eyes, lips and ears.

Case‐Selective Dynamical Downscaling Enables a Tenfold Cost Reduction for Extreme Precipitation Statistics

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, 16 May 2026.
Abstract High‐resolution climate simulations are essential to study sub‐daily extreme precipitation, yet their computational demands make long‐term large‐ensemble simulations over a large geographical region often infeasible. We introduce a case‐selective dynamical downscaling (CSDD) framework that reconstructs extreme precipitation statistics at ...

Charge‐Acoustic Phonon Coupling Determined Carrier Transport Properties in FAxMA1−xPbBr3 Perovskite Single Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 22, 17 April 2026.
This study investigates acoustic phonon‑carrier coupling in FAxMA1−xPbBr3 single crystals using time‑domain Brillouin scattering. The results show that increasing the FA content in FAxMA1−xPbBr3 single crystal reduces both the elastic constant and the intrinsic carrier mobility governed by the acoustic phonon‑carrier coupling.
