Electrokinetic analysis reveals common conditioner ingredient interactions with human hair

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 2, Page 379-393, April 2026.
Novel electrokinetic analysis reveals how cationic surfactant deposition on hair is influenced by chain length and counterion mobility. Longer‐chain surfactants show superior adsorption through enhanced van der Waals interactions, while chloride counterions enable stronger electrostatic interactions.

Worlding geographies: A question of languages

open access: yesTransactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Volume 51, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract This intervention responds to the ‘Geography in the World’ series, addressing the question from two angles. Firstly, it shifts the focus from geography in the world to worlding geographies. Drawing on Deleuze and Guattari's concept of ‘becoming‐minority’, it encourages reflection on the current geography of knowledge production as a historical,

A Physically Consistent Particle Size Distribution Modeling of the Microphysics of Precipitation for Weather and Climate Models

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
Abstract The probability density function of drops is difficult to model. Current approaches make assumptions that are often problematic, as they allow negative values for the mean of the distribution. While the statistical goodness of fit of those models might be reasonable for precipitation radar estimation, the situation is unsatisfactory if a fully

The Transition From Bedload to Granular Debris Flow on Steep Slopes: A Force Balance Perspective

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract In mountainous regions, risk mitigation requires an understanding of sediment‐transport processes. We present new experiments conducted on a steep slope (33%) to study the transition from bedload to debris flow. The flume design was adapted to mimic alpine streams: instead of studying the mobility of a channel bed composed of uniform‐sediments,
