Detection Rate of Congestion Patterns Comparing Multiple Traffic Sensor Technologies

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems
This paper investigates the detection rate of various freeway congestion patterns and compares them across different traffic sensor technologies. Congestion events can be categorized into multiple types, ranging from short traffic disruptions (referred ...

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Avidin is evolutionarily conserved in fish but dispensable for development and resistance against Streptococcus agalactiae in zebrafish

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

MARK4 enhances stress granule formation under oxidative stress and increases tau accumulation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MARK4 (red dots) localizes to stress granules (orange dots) and promotes their formation under oxidative stress by modulating TIA1 (blue dots). MARK4 and TIA1 synergistically increase tau (purple) accumulation, and the reduction of the TIA1 ortholog suppresses neurodegeneration in a fly model.

Joint Power and Mobility Control

open access: yesCoRR
This study addressed the challenge of improving network connectivity in autonomous V2X networks by jointly optimizing transmission power and vehicle mobility. We proposed a link reception model based on a sigmoid approximation of SINR and transformed it into a power-based formulation for simplicity in optimization.

Formation Control of Mobile Robots

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computers Communications & Control, 2006
A constructive method is presented to design cooperative controllers that force a group of N mobile robots to achieve a particular formation in terms of shape and orientation while avoiding collisions between themselves. The control development is based on new local potential functions, which attain the minimum value when the desired formation is ...

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

SCCMDet: Adaptive Sparse Convolutional Networks Based on Class Maps for Real-Time Onboard Detection in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Remote Sensing Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Onboard, real-time object detection in unmaned aerial vehicle remote sensing (UAV-RS) has always been a prominent challenge due to the higher image resolution required and the limited computing resources available.

Understanding and Mitigating the Risk of Accelerated Biological Aging in Survivors of Cancer: A Scoping Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Cancer treatment is associated with measurable acceleration of biological aging across epigenetic, telomere, senescence, and immune biomarkers. However, biomarker validation and interventional strategies remain limited, especially in hematologic malignancies, underscoring the need for standardized multi‐omic aging assessments and adequately powered ...
