Mobility management in optical mobile network
2014 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference (WCNC), 2014In this paper a novel mobility management scheme is proposed that is based on optical packet switching. Optical Packet based Mobility Management (OPMM) is proved to be more efficient for mobile traffic transport compared to conventional GPRS Tunneling Protocol (GTP) regarding packet overhead, transport latency and energy consumption.

Mobile CoAP for IoT mobility management
2015 12th Annual IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC), 2015For Web-based applications in Internet of Things (IoT) environment, the IETF CoRE Working Group developed the Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP). A limitation of CoAP is that it does not address a mobility management for CoAP sensor nodes, which may move between different IP domains of a wireless sensor network.

Mobility and mobility management: a conceptual framework
Proceedings 10th IEEE International Conference on Networks (ICON 2002). Towards Network Superiority (Cat. No.02EX588), 2003The tremendous demands from the social market are pushing the development of mobile communications faster than ever before, leading to the emergence of many new techniques. Within those techniques, mobility management has widely been recognized as one of the most important problems for seamless access to wireless networks and services.

Distributed mobility management with mobile IP
2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012Mobile IP is primarily based on separating session identifier from route locator to support mobility and is comparable to Host Identity Protocol and Locator ID Separation Protocol defined in IETF. One important difference causing a major weakness in MIP is in routing via a centralized anchor point.

Crowdsourcing for Mobile Data Management
2013 IEEE 14th International Conference on Mobile Data Management, 2013Crowdsourcing refers to a distributed problem-solving model in which a crowd of undefined size is engaged in the task of solving a complex problem through an open call. This novel problem-solving model found its way into numerous applications on the web for voting, fund-raising, micro-works and wisdom-of-the-crowd scenarios.

Proceedings of the 10th ACM Symposium on Modeling, analysis, and simulation of wireless and mobile systems, 2007
Location management strategies can be categorized into two main groups: offline (static) and online (dynamic) schemes. In offline schemes, the network has a unique behavior for all users, such as the current GSM networks. On the other hand, in online schemes, different network topologies are considered for different users.
