The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Identification and comparative analysis of vibration modal parameters of rice planter frame

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
Modal parameter analysis is a common method for structural characteristic analysis. To accurately identify the modal parameters that describe the vibration characteristics of the structure, the chassis frame of the rice transplanter is taken as the ...

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Research on Parameter Influence of Offshore Wind Turbines Based on Measured Data Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Offshore wind turbines are prone to structural damage over time due to environmental factors, which increases operational costs and the risk of accidents.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Comparison of Different Independent Component Analysis Algorithms for Output-Only Modal Analysis

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2016
From the principle of independent component analysis (ICA) and the uncertainty of amplitude, order, and number of source signals, this paper expounds the root reasons for modal energy uncertainty, identified order uncertainty, and modal missing in output-

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Improving Modal Verb Treatment in English Textbooks Used by Chinese Learners: A Corpus-Based Approach

open access: yesSAGE Open, 2022
This study demonstrates how native and learner corpora can enhance modal verb treatment in English-as-a-foreign-language (EFL) textbooks used in mainland China.

High-resolution modal analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sound and Vibration, 2008
The Fourier-transform-based traditional modal analysis techniques perform poorly when modal overlap η exceeds 30%, due to the ΔT.Δf limitation. In view of filling the gap between the low- and the high-frequency domains where modal analysis and statistical methods respectively apply, a technique based on the high resolution analysis algorithm ESPRIT ...
