Modal-Logical Reconstructions of Thought Experiments
AbstractSorensen (Thought experiments, Oxford University Press, New York, 1992) has provided two modal-logical schemas to reconstruct the logical structure of two types of destructive thought experiments: the Necessity Refuter and the Possibility Refuter.

The performance of proper orthogonal decomposition in discontinuous flows
In this paper, flow reconstruction accuracy and flow prediction capability of discontinuous transonic flow field by means of proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) method is studied. Although linear superposition of “high frequency waves” in different POD

Edge-Guided Dual-Modality Image Reconstruction
To utilize the synergy between computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data sets from an object at the same time, an edge-guided dual-modality image reconstruction approach is proposed. The key is to establish a knowledge-based connection between these two data sets for the tight fusion of different imaging modalities.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Online Intelligent Identification of Modal Parameters for Large Cable-Stayed Bridges
Realizing online intelligent identification of bridge modal parameters requires not only the adaptive decomposition of structural response signals but also the enforcement of the automatic identification of modal parameters. Therefore, in this paper, the
